Rondon or Mitrovic
This is causing great debate on twitter who the club should sign

who would you pick?

personally i'd have rondon - 19 goals and assists in a defensive newcastle side, better contribution than any west ham player this season.

Think he could be class with the likes of anderson/lanzini/yarmo feeding him

Re: Rondon or Mitrovic
rondon unlike the twat about to leave us is very durable, I think he's only missed about eight league games in the last three seasons. obviously we should target younger players if they're affordable but I think rondon would be a safe buy. if we can sort out the centre of midfield and spend most of the budget there, I think that will take pressure off the back four and allow whoever's up front more opportunities

I would prefer Rondon but from what I've read it won't be either

Re: Rondon or Mitrovic
Alf’s, Harewood did it in two Championship seasons but we need to go back to the Kanoute and Defoe times for 13 goals in a PL season. Circa 2000-2003.

Re: Rondon or Mitrovic
29 is not old in this day and age. Look at Glenn Murray. Hardly world class but at 35 yrs of age, he scored 13 PL goals this season in a side that just avoided relegation.

When was the last time a WH striker scored 13 goals in a Prem season (and how tragic is that stat)?

In addition, we need someone with lightning pace.

Sounds like Rondon wants to stay at the Barcodes and he's just waiting to see what happens with Rafa.

Rondon.

There were as many shots of Mitrovic fucking up as doing good stuff on MotD.

That's my impression, anyway

Re: Rondon or Mitrovic
Rondon by a million miles. He is a proper centre forward, of the type that will cause most defences problems. You could even see it when he was playing for West Brom, despite not scoring many goals (but more than Carroll has in a single season for 8 years). He is what Carroll was meant to be.

Mitrovic is a solid bottom half of the Premier League player. Rondon would be at a top club if he was a few years younger, and may still end up so.

Re: Rondon or Mitrovic
He definitely had his best season at Newcastle
Not sure whether that’s due to:
Him working out his game
Playing with the likes of Ritchie & Perez suiting him
Not having to play with the shit players at West Brom

David Cross was one who developed his game later in his career and got better.

Rondon is a very good player who has worked out the Premier League over a couple of years. I think he could be an inspired signing.

Re: Rondon or Mitrovic
Rondon strikes me as one of those players who starts to get more prolific the older he gets. He doesn't excite me but he is a solid, hardworking player.

Mitrovic is too much of a loose cannon...his temperament doesn't convince me...not sure if him and Arnie would be compatible...in more ways than one

Re: Rondon or Mitrovic
I could imagine Arnie and Mitrovic fighting with knives in the dressing room before making up & getting together to catch a swan in the canal outside the stadium

Personally I’d prefer we found someone 22-25 in Europe who could play through the middle and was a bit more mobile.
Someone in the style of Sahko but without the mental instability

Mitrovic for me. Much younger and has that ‘angry selfish’ gene.
